As we mature in our lives, it seems there is one rite of passage or process of growing

up that we all have to face in a rather routine but necessary way, and it mostly involves leaving behind those dependent days of childhood we so often took completely for granted. For the most part, nearly all of us begin with the same advantages, which are handed to us by the generous warm embrace of parents and guardians alike. Such embraces include being provided with food and shelter. Some extras may even include being bought entertainment now and again, or other luxuries such as vacations and objects we will come to use in the future. It is a passing down of purchases that seems to rule the generations. However, as life makes its way through another year and another year, one must also begin to adjust to a lot of different experiences, and most of these involve a longing for more independence. While this is notable, one must also come to terms with what independence costs and how it is to be handled. For instance, one may leave high school and go straight to working, or might go to college and then working, but one always seems to be heading in a direction that gives them the responsibilities of living away from home, and into a place all of their own. Yet, moving into a room or home of one's own means picking up all that slack you were handedly given years before. These luxuries include dealing with rent or mortgage, insurance, electric bills, heating bills, water bills, television bills, and so forth. Everything in your life seems to have a price tag all of a sudden that you never truly anticipated. Of course, another transition has to do with the fact that living on one's own usually means living a bit more in silence. It may sound strange, but with all that independence, one can easily grow lonely not hearing the voices or movements of their parents, and that is why it can be a good idea to get a pet, such as a dog. A dog will help you in adjusting to being on your own, and provide you with a sense of company. Be forewarned, though, that a dog means a need for dog supplies.

Buying dog supplies however can actually be a lengthy process.

One has to pay for a few right out of the gate, however.

One has to put up a lot of different costs to begin with from paying an adoption fee or breeder cost, to a full vet check up, to simply food.

Second off, one has to acquire bowls for the dog to eat and drink out of.

Thirdly, one needs to provide the animal with some toys to get exercise.

Finally, extras emerge in the form of leashes, collars, or dog beds for resting.

While independence may be great, loneliness is not. Yet, if one gets a dog to keep themselves company, they just better get dog supplies, too.
