Why Two People Working in the Same Ground End Up Having a Relationship

Celebrity couples are all the rage at the moment, Posh and Becks Brangelina, and now after three months Kim Kardashian and New Jersey Nets basketball star Kris Humphreys are hitting the headline. Kim's sister is overjoyed at how happy the basketball player is making her sister, and being married to a celebrity basketball player herself, she knows all about how happy the combination of celebrity and sports star can be.

So why is it that when we find familiarity in someone in terms of the workplace or their life experience, is it that familiarity is safe and we therefore feel more inclined to engaging in a relationship with someone if it is not something of an unknown entity. A lot of relationships form with people at work, obviously is it easier for couples to get to know each other in a neutral work environment, than either on a blind date or in a nightclub. There are many pre-meditated questions that are applicable in nightclubs or on first dates, (where did you grow up? How many brothers and sisters have you got) the kind of questions that may as well be small talk at a hairdressers and they immediately create a defensive barrier that gets peoples backs up. In the workplace however a more natural developmental relationship occurs in a way that makes you fond of someone over time.

People are at ease with the friendship at first because they feel no threat in terms of whether or not the friendships barriers will ever be tested, everything is safe and they don't have to worry about how members of the opposite sex perceive what they are doing, or whether it's a possibility that they might read into signals wrongly and get the wrong idea.

However this almost creates a reverse psychological effect on a lot of people, because they are being so free and easy with themselves around the workplace their true colours really come out, and they end up getting to know other people who's true colours are also on display, a lot better, and eventually end up have feelings for each other. It's a natural cycle that more often than not we've all seen from someone we know at work or it may have even happened to ourselves. So this similarly to why so many celebrities end up together is the reason why people that have familiar circles of friends and familiar surroundings end up in relationships together. Actors and actresses, celebrity and sports stars always seem to end up having relationships with each other because they are familiar with each other's surroundings
