It's easy to think that meat thermometers are mainly used by professional chefs

. But if you think about it they are actually more useful to those of us that cook at home and are not professionals.

The benefit of that is the unit doesn't have to be beside the oven which means you can carry it with you and relax in another room and the signal will be sent to it when the meat is ready.
