Take one night this week to gather your family around and hold a "security plan" meeting. You could also teach your family self-defense by taking everyone to a self-defense class. Self-defense can be really important when faced with dangerous scenarios. It is always good to have some knowledge on what to do when faced with an emergency situation.

These are only suggestions of things you can do at your meeting. Do a little research and find out what safety issues you would like to discuss. Your children might be able to give you some additional knowledge with things they have learned as well. The important thing is to get together and discuss ways you can continue to be safe, in and outside of the home.
