Certified Honda has a better ring to it than used Honda. Doesn't it? However, a certified Honda is, in fact, a used Honda. But, then again, it's not. Confused yet? Probably. So, let me clear this up.

A large portion of car buyers cruise past the new car section and, instead, browse the used car lot for their next vehicle. In fact, 40% of car sales come from the used car lot. Why? Because it's cheaper. But, as you know, cheaper can come with a price. When you buy a used car, you're taking a gamble. Did the previous owner rev up the RPMs and zip around corners? Or did they drive the speed limit and get the oil changed every 3,000 miles? So, therein lies the question: new or used? The answer: certified pre-owned.

Hondas are reliable vehicles. That goes without saying. A used Honda will probably be reliable. But why risk it? Why risk getting a used Honda when you can get a used Honda that's certified. A certified Honda is, essentially, a used Honda that will drive like it's new. It's the happy medium between a used Honda with hazy background and a brand new Honda that's more expensive with no background. It's not as expensive as the brand new Honda, but it's more trustworthy than a used Honda.

A certified Honda undergoes meticulous inspection. Here's the gist of it. First, a certified Honda must be less than six years old and have less than 80,000 miles. Then, the car is examined by factory-trained mechanics, who recondition any Honda part not meeting strict standards. After this, a background check is conducted. Your local Honda dealer runs a CARFAX history report, inspects the VIN numbers on the car, etc. Finally, the car must undergo a 150-point inspection.

If the used Honda passes this exhaustive process, it can then be dubbed a certified Honda. The fact of the matter is when you buy a certified Honda you know what you're getting. It's just like buying a new Honda but without the extra cost. So why a certified Honda? It's a reliable option that will fit any budget constraints.
