Very few athletes will admit to using steroids to enhance their game, due to the harsh gossip that the media will unkindly spread. The real question that every sports fan of America asks, is why do professional athletes start using steroids?

A common reason that athletes choose to take steroids is the fear of failing. When a student performs poorly their act is noticed by very few. As where a professional athletes poor performance skills are noticed world wide.

By taking steroids, athletes feel as if they are given an edge that helps them perform to their highest potential. If steroids are not taken by a frequent user before a game, you will find that they become weary and nervous of their opponents and surroundings.

While many professional athletes seem confident and well prepared, they are secretly falling apart at the seams outside their game. Alcohol and drug use is extremely common with athletes on a high paying salary.

To stay sober but focused during game season, they choose to take steroids. When addicts use steroids to enhance their game they are also stabilizing their moods and feelings. To them this is a great supplement to help their day go by with ease.

Although many athletes use steroids to enhance their game or control their urges for other drug addictions, there is also a large variety of them who use them for personal appearance. Watching a physically fit athlete run down the court or across the field can be almost intimidating at times. To them, that is the goal.

By taking steroids they are adding to their muscle mass and tone, which in return intimidates their opponents into backing off. This particular type of steroid happens in many different sports and activities around the world.

Even though our baseball heroes and basketball stars may use steroids to enhance their game and boost their self esteem, they still seem to give us the suspense and thrill that we as fans seek.

Despite the thoughts of athletes using steroids, they have made it where they are for a reason and steroids do not need to be used to impress their fans around the world. Just by bring personality and skill to the court or field is plenty enough for everyone.
