While it may be true that in Wicca, there are no set rules for what you can and cannot use, it would be nice to look over the popular options that many have found to work well for them. This way, you will at least have some sort of starting place. You can change and adapt things as you feel the need to. Again, remember, in order to get started on your path in Wicca, you do not have to get everything you learn about as far as wiccan tools goes. Start small and as your desire and your experience grows, so will your collection of tools and supplies.

One thing that many people will start with is an alter. This is something that you can create on your own if you would like or you could buy a special alter from a trusted dealer. Another thing that is essential for a lot of Wiccans is that of the alter bell. The wiccan athame, or knife, is also an essential part as it will be used for many rituals and spell work.

For the preparation of the spells or potions, many practitioners of Wicca will make use of a cauldron and they will also have their Chalice at the alter. And on just about every wiccan alter out there, you will find three candles on the alter. There will be two white candles and one black candle. The black candle represents the Goddess and the whites represent the God and lighting.

Incense is another thing that is commonly used as part of the Wiccan tools and supplies. You'll need a censer for that in order to burn the incense. The censer is like a cauldron and it is usually suspended in the air with tripods. The censer itself will represent the air element.

Now that you have a little more of a clear understanding as to what the basic wiccan tools and supplies are, you can get started shopping. When you find something that simply seems to call out to you, you might want to take more of an interest in it and buy it. Remember, with this path comes an incredible amount of learning and changing. What you feel and believe today will probably not what you feel and believe tomorrow. You are growing spiritually and that is why you will see change in yourself. With that change, just might be a new list of tools and supplies to get.
