Will Asthma Influence Diabetes?
Every body knows diabetes may cause so many complications in the body
. Diabetes even leads to heart attack. As we know diabetes is a chronic condition, one can only control it for a better living. Here are some interesting studies which reveals the why diabetes come not under control for certain individuals. In the very latest publishing by the Search Study Group in Pediatrics.. The study state that the children and young adults with diabetes are likely to have asthma may affect the ability to control the diabetes ie the capacity to control the sugar level in the blood.
The study was conducted among the youth ranging the age limit from 3 to 21 years from six clinical centres in California, Colorado, Hawaii, Ohio, South Carolina and Washington. The numbers of young ones that they considered for this purpose were 1,994.
It is better to maintain good blood sugar to prevent the extra complications to ones body that have diabetes. This is the actual situation prevails in the body of young ones and adult. This stage of good blood sugar is termed as glycemic. This glycemic control and the asthma control was the core subject that the researchers took for study. As afore said racially and ethnically diverse group of 1,994 were considered to study the relationship between the glycemic control and asthma control. Researchers found that the possibility of having asthma for an individual with diabetes is 11 percentages. This is some what higher than the prevailing figure in the general population of the society. The prevalence of asthma was 10 percent among youth with type1 diabetes and 16 percent in type 2 diabetes. In the early studies, it is revealed that approximately 9 percent of total young adults in the Unites States hade asthma. The research group revealed one important thing that young adult with type 1 diabetes having asthma were more likely to have higher haemoglobin A1C. This indicates the poorer glycemic control.
The data collected through this study says that children with asthma and diabetes are not taking any prescription medications for the treatment of asthma. This may cause to continue the asthma in the body and this leads to poor glycemic control. As a result the ability to control diabetes is getting lower. So it is very necessary to treat the asthma with leukotriene modifiers or combination with inhalers. Interesting this is that the individuals undergone these types treatment got better change. 72 percent of youth had good glycemic control.
Another indication which found through the research is that children and young adults with type 1 diabetes and asthma were more likely to be over weight or obese. But the research cant identify the element that causes the overweight or obese.
It is recommended that the parents and health care providers recognize the symptoms of asthma and do treatment as early as possible.
