Bay windows are typically found in the kitchen or bedroom, although they will also work with living room dcor.

Sliding patio doors were traditionally made of metal. More recently, they come with wood frames, as well. This complements a room's dcor. The framing can be chosen to go with the same style or shade of wood grain as the room's furniture. Using vinyl windows with a sliding patio door is especially beneficial in limiting the sun's radiant heat energy. Draperies or vertical blinds can be hung on the inside to ensure privacy when drawn and let in light and air during the day. Sliding doors are also convenient for patios during picnics and get-togethers when there is a lot of traffic between the indoors and outdoors, especially the kitchen.
