Windows 7 Operating System And How It Compares to Vista
Back when Microsoft introduced Vista to the world they created quite a stir
. Those of us that had been using XP really liked it, for the most part, and as we changed over to the new Vista we were not happy. Too much of a change in some areas that made us have to learn how to do some things over again and it just moved too slowly sometimes.
Trying to add a new Vista computer to an XP network proved to be really fun especially when there was a static IP being used. Other software was not ready immediately or the change much less the mixture of the two. Some company networks were all changed to Vista at once due to the problems. Others decided to wait and stay with XP a little longer and see.
With the rumor of the Windows 7 OS came a sigh of relief across the IT world. Now that we have had some time to use this new system how are they comparing. And is Win7 as good as the old XP?
Vista was a more powerful operating system for heavy duty uses and high speed uses such as gaming than XP. So you'll find that not everyone was unhappy with it. But now the new "7" has the advantage of the simplicity of XP and the power of Vista. And without the glitches and the non-compatibility issues we faced with introduction of Vista. Both Vista and Win7 are better equipped to work with the now prevalent dual core and multi-core processors than was the old XP.
For those users that have waited the transition from XP to Windows 7 will be easy. The main thing will be the increase in speed and power. But they will not have to face relearning where things are and some of the simple functions that we had to figure out when we changed from XP to Vista. To me going from Vista to 7 is like "going back home".
If you are thinking of changing your computer over to Windows 7 from Vista check it out first. Some can and cannot be changed over. The 7 OS will win in the speed test of start up, transfers and opening applications over the older systems when using a high powered processor with plenty of RAM. The difference is only slight with less powerful PCs.
