People and not just feminists harbor a popular notion that most men are immature, impulsive and selfish. This is a universal phenomenon. No partner can tolerate 'immaturity' for too long. While you might think that 'depending' on your ex is a sign of the love that you feel, it works the other way round. Women for instance hate it when a man clings to her for everything. Even the most authoritative and domineering types of women despise such 'sissy' men. Women by nature are impressed by confident, self-assured and intelligent men, who should ideally rule their lives and set examples. This can be validated if you talk to a woman who has for long survived their marriage or a live-in relationship and all of them would talk in the same language. Similarly men, beyond a certain point cannot take the signs of 'immaturity' in their partners. Mutual inter-dependence could be a binding factor between two people, but more often than not, it could be misinterpreted as weakness.
