So how did these women make it big? First they never allowed their gender to be a cause for concern. This is a road block for many women. Real estate is not only for men. If you were to ask any successful real estate investor, she would tell you that it is just a misconception and giving in to it would render you incapable of achieving success.

Second, to succeed in real estate investing in DC, a woman needs to have good time management skills. Many women have families with kids to take care of. Some even keep full time day jobs as real estate investing is not yet their full time occupation. Irrespective of their hectic personal lives, women investors find time for real estate and make it big.

Third, women investors are at a slight advantage because many property owners prefer to deal with women as they think they are easier to deal with and can get better deals from women. One has to also be wary as many owners think that they can easily sell a property that is not worth the asking price, to a woman.

Fourth, real estate investing apart, successful investors also have a keen eye for design and remodeling. Many buyers would like to make changes to their purchases and often ask investors for suggestions. If an investor is able to help her client, then she would be more sought than others.

Remember, your being a woman will have little or no effect on your work unless you think it would. Hence believe in yourself and work towards achieving success. Real estate investing in DC is very rewarding but at the same time competitive. Thus time management, risk management and continuous education are essential for success.
