Work From Home Balance
There seems to be especially in western culture a prevailing attitude of obtaining
as many physical assets that one can in the shortest time period possible. This is often at the expense of everything else. In fact most people in this day and age place everything subservient or secondary to this. This of course results in a mentality that crushes and uses people viewing them only as a means to an end. Sad situation indeed. But often all to found throughout society today.
It really then cannot be over emphasized enough the importance of maintaining a work and life balance. This is especially true when it comes to working from home. Prior to the development of the digital age people essentially worked from dusk to dawn, retiring from their daily duties at the end of the day. This then forced them to pursue other interests, rest their mind, spend time with family, and communicate more with others on a personal level. The invention of the internet today, along with it's various methods of interacting with others via face book, twitter, etc have completely changed standard methods of communication. People work all day only to come home to work all night. There is no work life balance. It is no longer a case of working to survive, but working to gain all that one ultimately can from this life.
The motivation with any work from home venture should be to earn money while obtaining freedom, flexibility, and a well rounded life away from the strict regimes of a 9-5 position. If a person can truly achieve this the work that they will do will be fresh, enjoyable, and fruitful in a way not possible with a normal job. Time that would be taken up otherwise working can be spent in various other pursuits that all work together to create a whole human being, who can express beneficial ideas for the rest of the community. Those that have been successful with work from home projects are examples with many appreciating their position and giving back by means of supporting charities, or mentoring those who also are looking for success in this area.
To ask yourself why you are doing what you are doing will help to not only set realistic goals for yourself, but allow you when you get there to be satisfied with what you have achieved, thus producing a work life balance.
