Handling stress in itself creates some stress. Change is always difficult, and the person must be dedicated and have a plan. The person should sit and think about the things that cause them stress. Do not overwhelm the list. Stick with issues that occur regularly. Write down the goals and be specific. State who, what, when, where and why for each stressor. Then pick one or two to start changing.

Write down a plan for change. A goal has more impact when it is written down and read aloud once a week. This action is undoubtedly critical to the sustained success of the goal. Do not go overboard and allow for the occasional slip. Be realistic, set small but attainable goals. Include a written timeline. It is exceptionally easy to continue to work on goals for an extended period if there is not a completion date.
