If watery wonders are your cup of tea, then why not try visiting some of the world's

most beautiful lakes, whether it be for depth, or span, or clarity.

Lake Nakuru, Kenya the beauty of this lake is not the backdrop or the clarity but the pink tinged edges. With most wildlife unable to live around the lake due to the sheer volume of sodium carbonate in the water, flamingos flock here to feed on the algae in the shallows. The lake is also close to a sanctuary for rhinos, which is another great reason to visit.

Lake Bled, Slovenia bled had a tiny little island in the centre, home to a Dracula esque castle, which if you climb gives you amazing views of the surrounding vistas. Local lore says if you ring the castle bell and make a wish you will be blessed, so make sure you do so before you head back to your hotel, which more often than not will have a pool with a built in thermal spa.

Lake Annecy, France with the closest city being Geneva, Annecy is full of sporty daredevils overflowing from the slopes, especially in the summer months. Visit in the first week of august and see the two hour long fireworks display that illuminates the water. By day experience water sports, or hike around the lakes for some stunning views.

Plitvice Lakes, Croatia take your pick from the sixteen blue green lakes, connected by hundreds of waterfalls and hidden by verdant vegetation, see wildlife and work from the lower to the higher lakes to really marvel the sights,
