1) Logo Logos are graphical representation of your company. It should be the very first element that the reader shall notice. A remarkable logo is important since logos can stimulate recall.
2) Powerful headline Headline refers to your firms selling mantra. Headlines can be text or the combination of text and picture. Make sure the headline sums up benefit of doing business with you. This is the reason why it is sometimes called a benefit headline.
3) Call to action Call to actions are words that urge the reader to act on what they have read. While you have to provide sufficient information early on, you also have to tap on the curiosity of that reader for him or her to make an action.
4) Testimonial Testimonials are formal statements attesting the quality of a product. For instance, a testimonial sums up the experiences regarding using the product. As such, it compels other customers to try out the product.
5) Center spread Center spread refers to the two opposing pages. This is where text, photos and illustrations should be strategically placed. Center spread highlights the benefits of using the products hence this should be pleasing to the eye and inviting.
6) Photographs Images to be incorporated on your brochure. The images should be of high quality. The clich that a picture paints a thousand words still holds true today. As much as possible, choose a photo that will truly reflect your unique selling proposition.
7) Box Box may contain anything for as long as the content is in-synched with the overall theme of the brochure. The most commonly boxed contents are testimonials or FAQs. Box or boxes in brochure add impact.
8) White space White space is important in the readability of the brochure. While this may not apply to all brochure designs, the strategic use of space can balance the entire page. You need not fill all the spaces. This is more so since this can only crowd your brochure and thus make it difficult to read. Also, when a brochure looks too crowded or too busy, the images will definitely loose impact.
