SSC IS NOT THAT DIFFICULT

With ordinary talent and extra-ordinary perseverance everything is attainable' Thomas Foxwell Button

You just had your school started and the only thought that might be in your head is How is class ten? Shall I be able to perform well? Let me tell you that SSC is not that difficult. The syllabus is going to be just a bit vast than class nine. Perhaps a bit easier. What makes it easier is that from now onwards you had the vacation of almost two and a half months. Don't get elated on this only. Also you are going to have a preparation leave of almost fifteen days before the final exam and don't forget the official holidays and the other ones. If you will work in these days surely your entire studies will be ready before hand. Prepare an ordinary plan with timely implementation and you won't be far away from scoring above 80%. The current SSC syllabus requires more perseverance than inborn talent and the best news is that perseverance is completely in your hands. Now let me tell you something about the course. Starting with

English-

The total portion is divided into units which means you don't have to eat the food at one time and then making a complete mess. The portion is very interesting and easy to learn. The length of the chapters is very reasonable and the vocabulary being used throughout the portion is very familiar to you. Almost 75% grammar is based on the portion of class nine and the sane with writing skill section. Now no fear of English.

Marathi & Sanskrit-

Perhaps the excellence in these two languages is much depended on the teachers. Both the subjects require well experienced teachers and fortunately I had. And after all your dedication is also needed. Although the portion is vast, it is much easier. Understand the central theme from the chapters because the questions are mostly based on that. These two subjects need hard work and sincerity. Don't let a single day that you have not studied these subjects. Now no fear of languages.

Science Part-1 & Science Part-2

Honestly writing that if your basic concepts in class nine are clear then it will be a fun in studying. Both the parts don't have any brain-teasing numerical and diagrams. If you are a person thinking biology as a difficult task, remember-Just because something is difficult doesn't mean you shouldn't try It means you should just try harder.' And after all science is technical subject and don't require mugging.

Algebra & Geometry

The good news for those who think that mathematics is a subject beyond their reach is that the D-Group problems (the problems which require extra thinking) are completely expelled from the syllabus. No problems other than the syllabus! Also three chapters from commercial mathematics are included in Algebra portion which can be mastered by mere practice. Also the chapters like Binary Numbers & Probability are just based on the application of the formulae and methods. The numbers of theorems that you have to workout in the whole year is nine and the chapters like Construction, Mensuration, and Co-ordinate Geometry are barely tough.

I hope that you might be feeling a bit enchanted.

REALIZE THE SIGNIFICANCE

Do not pray for tasks equal to your to powers. Pray for powers equal to your tasks- Phillips Brooks

Although the task is easy, you must realize the significance of this milestone. This is the most future - defining year in your life. Once you have passed this crossroad in a satisfactory way, for the upcoming two years you will feel much secured. You need to be consistent throughout the year. Just ask yourself "What would be the consequences if I don't perform well?" If you don't know the consequences I shall tell you. If you don't perform well you won't get admission in a reputed college, if you are not in a reputed college then you will be differentiated in tutorials and you will not get the quality education in future and you will be wasting the hard-earned money of your parents. Remember that the consequences will occur if you don't perform well. But if you perform up -to- the mark then your future is going to be secured.

WORK FROM THE BEGINNING

Look at a stone cutter hammering away at this rock, perhaps a hundred times without as much as a crack showing in it. Yet at the last blow it will spilt in two, and I know it was the last blow that did it, but all that had gone before. -Jacob A. Riis

The minimum number of holidays that every school gives after final exam of class nine is sixty days i.e. two months. This is quite a long period of time. Don' let this time go in vain. During this period you don't have any exam tension. Perhaps you have those extra-classes of just 4-5 hours per day. This is just the most perfect time to analyze the entire portion and start working day-by-day. You are not restricted to join any other curricular classes because you have ample of time to manage both the tasks simultaneously. Start reading the lessons from Marathi, English just as the stories and enjoy them. Don't take any strain of these lessons but make a habit that after you finish a lesson at least find out the meanings of each difficult word. While reading analyze a troublesome grammar sentence, find out the grammar rules that can be applied to the sentence and try to find some other sentences of the same category. The best job to do in these vacations is to learn the Sanskrit words. Learn every day at least three words and at the end of the vacations you would be ready with all the Sanskrit words. If you get bored then watch a movie that you love but you should not waste the entire day in fun and enjoyment. Be consistent. Do the as if it were a vacation homework given to you. Just remember that realization comes after happenings'. This is the most peaceful period of your year. Utilize the time with great care because once the time is lost it will never come. Remember If work hard during your peace-time you will have to drop very little blood during the war-time'.

BOOKS MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Holidays are enticing only for the first week or so. After that, it is no longer a novelty to rise late and have little to do. Margaret Laurence

Brain Tracy, the author of GOALS, narrates that if you read at least 15 minutes a day, you will have completed seven excellent books in the respective year from English literature and the cherry on the cake is that you will be enriched with the knowledge that will serve as a foundation stone of your life. What I want to tell you is that start reading books during this free time. And especially the motivational books. Reading these books will give you a new energy and enthusiasm. You will come to know about the hidden potential you have within yourself. You will feel strenuous and you will come to know to know about the insights. These books are not lengthy. You can read them anytime. Let me tell you some very interesting calculations. Suppose you read 30 minutes a day. Considering your average speed of reading you read 15 pages in those 30 minutes. Remember that you have 60 days vacation leave. At the last day of your vacation you have completed you will have read 900 pages. Let us suppose that the book you are reading is of 200 pages. That means you have finished reading four motivational books in the vacation time. Read those 30 pages daily without missing a single day and you will experience something completely different. You will feel confident that you can score good marks in SSC and you will take all the necessary steps required in achieving your ultimate goal and you will be directing your dreams into reality.

THE ROLE MODELS ARE NOT MUCH FAR

We don't work unless we are given some inspirational doses about the senior students from our mothers. I don't know about you but I needed those doses at regular intervals. What I am trying to convey you is that keep some role models before you. No need of going much far. They were sitting just next to your classes. Yeah! You are right. I am talking about the students who just pass out from class ten. They are the perfect inspiration and motivation for you. You might be sometimes so influenced that they will play a major role in towards your success. Ask them about the books they preferred, how they planned for their studies, which tuitions they had joined, how much time they studied, ask them about how they worked throughout the year. And most importantly care about the views and regards about the school teachers. Perhaps these senior students are the best people who will answer your any query. And it's better to seek advice from the people who have already passed through that situation. Don't hesitate while asking them any sort of question. Remove the thought that if I will tell him/her that say, my mathematics is bit weak he/she will come to know about your vulnerability. They will tell you some techniques and some noteworthy advice that will help you to get better at mathematics. Don't just ask them in the beginning of the year. Consult them throughout the year. Don't just seek advices from them. Try to implement them in your work. I know that advices are much bitter. There is a very strong probability that you will take this advices as if it were bad pill to swallow. But they will give you the necessary inspiration that is needed before the start of your task. But again I want to tell you that these role-models are not worthy unless you work on their guidance and advice. You yourself need to take the charge. Follow these things and surely you will be a success.

I welcome every query on orkut..........
