Yamaha electric guitar is very durable

Yamaha electric guitar is very durable. However, some of its parts can be damaged by normal wear and tear. One of the most common parts that can be easily damaged is the output jack. The output jack of Yamaha guitar is frequently used. Cables are being plugged into it. After playing a tune, you will definitely unplug the cable so you can keep the guitar in its case.

Once the output jack has been damaged, there is nothing you can do but to replace it with a new output jack. Fortunately, replacing a damaged jack is easier than you think. So here are the steps to repair damaged electric guitar output jack.

1. Prepare the things that you will need. You will use a drop cloth, plenty of newspapers, soldering iron, electric tape, screw driver, and thick gloves.

2. Prepare your workplace by spreading the old newspapers on the floor. This is to avoid damaging your floor or carpet when you start soldering.

3. Unscrew the damaged output jack from the body of your Yamaha guitar. You have to pull out the jack until the connecting wires can be exposed.

4. Before you disconnect the wires from the damaged output jack, you have to remember where each wire is connected.

5. Disconnect the wires by melting the solder connections then reconnect them to the new output jack. Solder these connections and return the jack to its original position.

You can now use your repaired Yamaha electric guitar and play your favorite music again.
