North Yorkshire mountaineer, Alan Hinkes OBE, has climbed all 39 of the highest peaks in England in one week, with a little help from the Skoda Yeti.

Raising money for Mountain Rescue, Hinkes undertook the challenge on August 27th, beginning in his home county and took on peaks from Cornwall to Cumberland, completing the series of climbs on September 4th. His final climb was up Helvellyn, the 3,117 ft top in the Lake District. Skoda, keen to help the 56 year old climber, provided him with its Yeti model to travel across the country.

Hinkes is the first Briton to climb all 14 of the world's highest mountains in 2005. He said before the climb, "I'm extremely grateful to Skoda for providing me with a Yeti, it will certainly make life a lot easier when travelling from peak to peak." The challenge was something he'd been hoping to do for many years.
