A gamma camera is a medical camera that is built around the concepts of nuclear science. It is hard to believe that the science that we typically associate with nuclear bombs and nuclear waste, both of which most people consider a bad thing and want to stay as far away from it as possible.

However, this is the science that is involved heavily in the medical field. It is for sure involved in the gamma camera. Going back to the beginning of the article, if you have been to the hospital in which you drank a solution that looked and somewhat tasted like a fruit drink, then you were likely drinking low levels of radiation so that you could have your picture taken with the gamma camera.

It is also a lot more comfortable than the machine that is used in the traditional mammogram.

The medical industry is driven by a desire to improve the care that they can give. The desire to improve and advance the healthcare is driven by the human factor. We have all suffered the loss of someone as a result of cancer. We have all seen the suffering of others, or perhaps been the recipient of some sort of suffering and that is a human emotion. That can be powerful motivation for those who are smart enough to impact the advancement of healthcare.

In the end, it is a matter of a desire to live life to its fullest that drives the need to advance medical care. The gamma camera is one of those things that is a manifestation of the desire to advance cancer detection and the fight on cancer. It has made a big impact on the fight against breast cancer. Perhaps one day, it will be the old machine that is outdated, but for now, it is the machine that has advanced early detection of breast cancer.
