Before long, the fountain will be just another part of the house to them, and they won't concern themselves with it.

If you find that your dog or cat is a bit more determined to make your indoor fountains into playthings, then you still have some options. Wall fountains that are out of the reach of the animal are a good idea and you can find them in a variety of styles. Chances are that the animal will barely even notice it. Another option that you might want to consider is to buy indoor fountains that are for the tabletop rather than those for the floor.

These fountains will not be as easily accessible to most dogs, and cats are not likely to spend much time bothering the fountain especially once they discover that they aren't fond of water! You can find a number of different fountains for the tables in your home that you can be sure your pets will not bother. After you've had indoor fountains for a few days, you will likely find that even the most determined and curious dog or cat doesn't pay them any attention now that they are just another part of the house.

You should not let having pets cause you to give up on the idea of having a fountain! Make sure that you get a fountain that you truly enjoy. Animals have more intelligence than most people give them credit for and you will be able to train your animals to stay away from your fountains in no time!
