Your Inner Voice Is Calling You

Whats wrong? Is something on your mind that we need to talk about

? No Im fine, its nothing nothings wrong

Does this response sound familiar to you? Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you had an objection that you stifled down until it got caught in your throat? If so, how did you feel after that better? Or worse?

Many women are engaged in a fierce subconscious battle, sometimes even every day of the week. Their social politeness struggles with and wins over their increasingly inaudible inner voice, struggling to emerge from beneath the surface. These women are holding back from sharing their heart in the face of external pressure, demands or even simply opinions that they disagree with. Throughout the day, we are confronted with a variety of circumstances that evoke inner conflict: an overbearing manager demands that you work excessive overtime without compensation, your spouse loses their patience and says something hurtful, or perhaps a friend is considering a choice that you disagree with. Rather than put these conflicts in check with a few words of honest and kind personal opinion, many women gloss them over with a hope that they will correct themselves. They might believe that the battle is not worth fighting, or even be fearful that the offender will flare up when approached with a differing opinion or confronted about their mistreatment. Even worse one of the most significant reasons that we dont speak up in these circumstances is that women have been conditioned to perceive that anger and confrontation are unfeminine and downright unattractive. Rather than risk rocking the boat by expressing their personal truth, women harbor their objection, hurt feelings, disagreement, or even anger. No more!

We all have an internal barometer that alarms us when our environment has increased pressure in it its gauged on our personal value system of what we feel in our heart is right and wrong. When others have expressed something that doesnt agree with our values, our inner voice is alarmed and is eager to be heard. When someone actually acts outside of our definition of fair-treatment or loving relationship, we feel inner conflict. That is when we must act in confidence and truth!

Every woman deserves to express her inner voice. Even though it might be uncomfortable at first, try suggesting to your friend that you dont agree with her choice, and you think another path would be better for her. Try exercising your assertiveness by respectfully asking that overbearing coworker to stop interrupting you when you speak. It may feel shaky at first, but just like strengthening a muscle, youll get stronger and stronger the more you practice. Make a kind, but firm, request of others when you disagree with them, and you will be amazed at how much respect you will regain by simply voicing your values and opinions.

Believe me you really can make this positive change in your interactions with others. Expressing your true feelings, beliefs and values will position your soul for deep fulfillment as your actions reflect the voice of your inner self. Throw out those lies that its not feminine to be vocal, and start acting in the truth of yourself as the attractive and self-assured woman that you know you are.
