Your Resume Has Expired

I recently received this email from a very dominant resume accepting website

, and it made me laugh quite a bit. For fifteen years I had been with the same major retailer working my way up the ladder every twelve to eighteen months. Like many smart individuals I had submitted my resume out on the internet to see if I could get a "bite" on a better opportunity. Well as I got wiser in my older years I realized that waiting for an opportunity was not going to benefit me or my family.

I had actually forgot about it

I submitted my resume to many different websites and business over the years and have forgotten most of them. Like many of us on the internet, I go from site, to site to the next; sometimes visiting hundreds of sites a day. I thought that working for "The Man" was going to be the way for me to get ahead in this wonderful world of ours. I had a dream like everyone else, start a meaningful career, work my way up the ladder and retire with tons of money. Although I did have a great career for many years I was losing my time with my family and friends and life in general because I was working 70+ hours a week. For What? I was doing it to get by and making some other company a bunch of money!

Why I could care less.....

See I decided that if I wanted a different lifestyle, it did not involve a resume. I am a smart individual just as you are and know that the internet is the future. Almost every person has at least one internet connecting device that they own. For god's sake you can surf the internet from your phone and millions of people do it daily. We have all been hearing stories of how people are starting their own internet business and making a killing. Are you wondering why? The reason why is simple, THEY CAN, they just made a decision as I did to end the vicious cycle of the corporate world and working for "The Man" that has been controlling our lives for years.

Was I scared *$@% less

I get asked all the time "weren't you scared to start your own internet business"? I have to admit every time that "why yes I was", but I think of all the times that people do things that they are scared of. Think of all the successful people that were scared at one point in their lives, if they had not just done what they were scared of they might not be successful. They did not let their fear hold them back; they took a chance and lived their lives to the fullest. Did they and have I stubbed a toe along the way to success, of course we have, many times! Going through life in general you are going to stub a toe, but when you keep going this is where success comes from. I didn't allow being scared hold me back from doing what I wanted to in life and neither should you.

In today's world you can start your own internet business with little or no money. As in any opportunity in your life you have a higher chance of becoming successful if you obtain:

The Right Mindset

Persistence

Training

Guidance

There are so many options to start an internet business; you have got to just find a opportunity that makes you feel good about what you do.

So in closing I would like to say "I could care less that my resume has expired". I don't need it since I work from home and I don't consider it worth a hill of beans!
