Choose what to bring and not to bring: Begin with checking your rooms for the things you will bring and those that you will not bring. Bring only those that are important and useful to you and leave those that you haven't used for more than a year. Get rid of your unused stuffs by holding a garage sale or donate them to charities.
Contact Movers Glendale: You must contact Movers Glendale during this early stage. Since you will be using their professional services, it is but right that all your actions are well coordinated with them to enable a smooth move. Set a schedule with their moving counselors to give you adequate guides on having a smooth move and provide you with an estimate of the moving cost. This is also the perfect time to ask them of their insurance coverage.
Conduct a family meeting: explain to the family members the reason for moving and let them understand the advantages as well as the good things that await them in your new home. Assign each family member a particular task in preparation of and during the moving day itself to lessen your load.

Start Packing. Start buying boxes and other packing supplies a month before the moving day. Pack those that you think you will not use for the next 3-4 weeks first and pack those often used items last. Pack from one room to another and make sure to fill all the boxes to their capacity. Put crumpled paper to fill empty spaces in a box. Papers do a good job in protecting fragile items.
Keep all your bills. As you pack, it is very likely that you will find bills. Keep them in a separate envelope or something more durable and distinctive. Bills contain very important account details. Keep them for you will need them later.
Notify your service providers. Notify your utilities and subscriptions providers of your change of address. During this time, you may already schedule the cancelation of your services at a day after your scheduled move.
3 days before moving day
Disconnect major appliances: All major appliances should be disconnected 3 days before moving to allow time for defrosting, cleaning, or drying, and let's not forget... packing. This includes refrigerators, washing machines and dries, air condition systems and so on.
Finalize the packing: Check whether everything is packed and ready and that nothing important is left unpacked; including those appliances you just finished cleaning. Do no pack yet the things you will still use for the next two days as you will pack them the night before the move.
Pack an overnight bag: Have each family member pack his own overnight bag that will contain personal hygiene stuffs, nighties, phones, diaries, cash, passports, IDs and so on.
