I live within the Portland OR space and located the AM and FM reception fine. The FM uses the AC twine, however the printed signals are sturdy, therefore I may coil the twine within the twine holder and not have any FM reception downside. The AM signals are sturdy too. The antenna is on the left aspect and parallel to the aspect.I opened the case and checked if there was how to rotate the AM antenna. It can't be moved, because the antenna mounts on to a vertical circuit board. I do get some static on AM, however it's identical level as a transportable battery powered radio. The static isn't a dominant level. My florescent lights and my appliances to not impact the static level. Neither do the wireless phone and charger. I found the camera charger will increase the static, however provided that it's among three feet of the radio. Same behavior with the transportable radio.
