If you've got a newly designed product, you would want to know exactly what the public thinks about it, Apple is no different. The claim is iPad testers get a free iPad by completing just one offer. Is this true or is it a scam?

There appears to be several scams going around, particularly on facebook, where it looks like you can test the new Apple iPad and in return keep it for free. The truth is scammers are using this new product release to confiscate your personal information.

The rule of thumb is if something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is not true.

There are a lot of websites offering free iPads to unsuspecting users. Okay this is what their pitching, you will get a free iPad just if you test it and report your opinion to the people from Apple who are really interested in your opinion as a normal user. Apple believes that this way the free iPad is reviewed for free and it gets very good advertising at the national level. This sounds okay, but I have recently read an article that people on facebook who signed up for getting a free iPad had to also give their personal details about their bank accounts or phone numbers. (Never do this!!)

Some Facbook accounts have been compromised, and innocent users are finding their Facebook pages abused by spammers who are trying to direct traffic to websites which grab your personal information. Thousands have been tricked into thinking they are registering to test Apple's latest iPad. The Scam has gotten so bad that even the BBB warns that the iPad tester program is a scam.

Security experts believe the public's desire for a bargain and lust for new gadgets is driving the current epidemic of iPad-related scams.

Now it's true, your opinion can help Apple release better versions of the iPad in the future, develop improved capabilities, or even help them with the creation of a brand new iPad. But lets be honest, the expensive price tag of this device is just one of the obvious signs that there could be no such thing as a free iPad.

I have never seen a REAL PERSON who claims to have actually received a free iPad. My suggestion to you is to do yourself a favor and go out and buy an iPad. I promise you it will be cheaper in the long run.
