iPhone Alternatives - Which One Is Better
A group called iPhone Mobile Phone Killers debuted at IFA consumer electronics show
recently in Germany, hoping to get a piece of iPhone's big market share, which recently has sold more that 3 million units since its April market introduction and launching. Hoping to fill the gap between netbook and smartphone, rival hardware makers are improving their tablets with numerous selection of features and applications, and here is the top four of the
most promising devices expected to compete with iPhone directly.
These devices are expected to hit local market later this year.
Toshiba Folio Libretto W100 Toshiba is releasing another tablet from Android 2.2 camp sometime this year. Its 10.1-inch screen is slightly larger than Apple's iPad and is available in WiFi only or WiFi Plus 3G. It has 16GB memory, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and powered by the next generation Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset. It has 2 USB slots, an SD card slot, HDMI connectors for TV, and has stereo speakers. Availability and local pricing is not yet available but Toshiba releases similar modem recently selling $1599 in Australia. The Toshiba Folio Libretto W100 is an upgraded version but expected to be cheaper.
Samsung Galaxy Tab The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a stunning smart phone powered by Google's 2.2 Android Operating System. This 7-inch device is extremely handy as worked also as a phone, will be available sooner. It is more compact, lighter, and smaller than iPhone. It supports Flash 10.1, with 16GB to 32GB RAM, and flexible forward-facing camera in 3.2 and 1.2 mega pixels. The Samsung Galaxy will have access to Android Market of Applications.
Dell Streak As one of the leading computer manufacturers, Dell don't want to get left behind. The Dell Streak is smaller than the Samsung Galaxy measuring only 5 inches and slightly bigger than the normal mobile phone. It has a 1 GHz processor, a 16GB microSD memory card and 5-megapixel digital camera on its back with a flash. Dell Streak however lack support for flash and uses earlier version of Android resulting to limitations on running new Android applications.
Blackberry Storm 2 Still one of the leaders in Smartphones and Droids, Blackberry Storm 2 is the latest next generation tablet that could compete iPhone. Its features are still the same but enhancements are more powerful. There is no specific data yet but consumers are expected better performance and flexible usability. The above lists are just a small fraction of iPhone's competitors.
Consumers are always given chances to select which of these devices are fit for their needs. nevertheless, iPhone remains the favorite of most users.
