Neighborhood Watch-tag...you're Caught!

It can, however, become more serious, felony-level crime if the damage inflicted is more than $1,000.00. Other penalties such as the severity of the crime, the criminal history of the offender, his/her age, etc. determines the type of probation or jail time received. Are You Going To Keep Doing Things You Don't Want To Do?

What are you doing this week that you actually don't want to do?Clues are when you hear yourself saying 'I have to ...', I must ...', 'I should ...'. This is the language of reluctance, obligation and coercion. It may seem that this is inevitable but is it?The games we play in our heads can tie us in knots. Can you imagine a hippopotamus down at the river wallowing in the mud but not really wanting to? Or a lioness getting miserable because she must hunt? We humans get stuck; we become overwhelmed; we procrastinate.Consider just one statistic - more than two-thirds of people don't enjoy the work they do. That's a lot of people! The internal tension caused by repeatedly doing things while not wanting to be doing them creates stress, drains energy and is ultimately destructive. There are, of course, enlightened folk who always want to do what they do. This is something the rest of us can aspire to. How do they do this?Put simply, they make it a matter of choice. They switch what they do into a choice they make, rather than a choice that is made for them. The locus of control is with them, not somewhere else. Control over what we do and how we do it - autonomy - is in itself a powerful...more

What Exactly Is A Aviary

An aviary is a large cage or building in which live birds are kept. The name aviary comes from the Latin word avis, which means "bird." When the weather...more

What Exactly Is A Avalanche

When a tremendous mass of snow, ice, or loose rocks and earth slides down the side of a hill or mountain, it is called an avalanche. Anything tends to slide downhill, but usually snow or rocks will cling to a mountain side. When a mass of snow becomes too heavy, perhaps because of a big snowfall, or because the sun has melted a lower layer that was holding up the top layer, part of it may start sliding, which will carry all the rest along with it. Avalanches can be very dangerous. They can bury people, houses, and even whole villages. Avalanches sometimes go faster than 100 miles an hour, and the biggest ones have contained five million tons of snow. A loud noise, such as a rifle shot or even a man shouting, can start an avalanche. The sound waves make the snow or ice shake a little, which may be just enough to loosen it. The worst places for avalanches are in the Alps, the big mountain chain in southern Europe (Switzerland, Austria, and Italy), and in Alaska. The biggest disaster ever caused by an avalanche was in the Alps in 1916, when nine thousand soldiers of the Austro- Hungarian Army were buried and died under tons of snow. There have been big avalanches of rocks breaking off...more
