Rocky Adventure The Great Outdoors

I can still remember the sound of cars and the smells of many different people that the big city presented us on our last trip. The old man had taken us on a trip that landed us in high-scraper as dubbed by Tim, and while the situation had been somewhat stressful, there had been the conveniences of a comfy bed and soft carpet. And the bathroom was outside. But that isnt the case here.To start, wed packed early this morning, or at least I had done so (the old man never forewarns me of these kinds of plans). With bone in mouth, I waited at the door for the old man to pack up the car for another trip, which I presumed would be to visit the big city again. The luggage looked strange, and we werent even loading up in our car. We were, in fact, loading up in Debbies car. A strange machine, instead of a backseat, they have a box that holds their stuff. Occasionally, I have seen Izzy enjoying the breeze from back there, though he prefers the window seat which Im sure well have to argue to see who gets it.The old man had won the seat by the window, leaving Izzy and me the backseat to ourselves. We took turns checking out the view, but for the most part we just took in the refreshing breeze...more

Beanie Hats: From Functional Outdoors Gear To Urban, Street-fashion Accessory

Remember back when beanies were regarded as ski headwear which means you mainly donned them after it was really, extremely cold outdoors? How things have changed. Presently beanies are worn indoors, in the course of hot summer months and quite often accompany really expensive suits worn by Hollywood stars. So what changed? It appears that back in the 80s beanies used to be perceived as functional outside garments and nothing more (certainly not fashion accessories). Colossal hairstyles plus a great deal of hair spray were in vogue and consequently beanies (winter caps) did nothing but wreck that hair.Lots of people in the 80s would brave cold wintery temperatures without a cap since if they wore a ski cap, their big done-up hairstyle would be ruined for the whole day. Back in those years, it was common to waste around 30 minutes per day styling your hair.Next the 90s emerged and short hairstyles (shaved heads) became popular. The majority of these hairstyles, influenced by hip-hop, skate boarding and the grunge music movement simply couldnt be messed up and therefore hats of all sorts, along with beanies begun to surface as significant fashion trends.Through the 90s, generation Y...more
