Usually speaking only two primary political parties have sufficient of the British vote to become the principal ruling party in Britain. One of the general election rules or requirements is to have won 326 seats for their right to operate and rule the British Parliament. In this years election of 2010 the conservatives won three hundred and six seats with Labour winning 258 seats and the Liberal Democrats winning fifty seven seats. The Kapitan Keling Mosque is probably the most widely renowned mosque located in Penang. George Towns most massive historically renowned mosque, it is named in honour of Caudeer Mohudeen, the leader of the Muslim Indian community who oversaw its construction approximately in the year 1800. It is commonly thought that the area of land on which the mosque was built was donated to the Muslim Indian community by Sir George Leith, Lieutenant Governor of Penang in 1801 for the construction of a major mosque. Since these early days the grounds of the mosque have diminished, due to improper administration and encroachment of private property, but the magnificent structure remains. During the 1910s the mosque was granted a significant refurbishment in the style known as British Moghul Revival, augmenting the existing structure with a madrasah, a sizable minaret, and Mughal turrets and domes. It must be noted that the mosque conforms to Kiblat, which decrees that the mosque should face the direction of Mecca.
