Being a martial arts champ ( When i was young ) i know several advices regarding fighting that may be helpful.

SO attempt to keep calm, control your breathing through the fight and Try to be conscious to the atmosphere around you simply because at times you will find something to help you in the combat and even an escape chance.
Always try to push your fear aside and remember that fear and anger will make you weaker so attempt to regulate your fear and also make your challenger feel the anxiety instead. I know it isn't easy to manage your fear but if you put this as a target you will find yourself assured time after time.
Attempt to raise your voice in the face of your enemy while this will cover your fear and give them the impression that you're assured and the fight won't be that easy. And if you are sure that the battle is coming any way Try to be the first one that attack. Make your strike strong, painful and harmful because this will trigger the opponent fear and make him loose control and when the first attack works follow it with more punches and kicking to take the best benefit from your initial achievement.
Final thing avoid the humiliating un painful violence as this will make you opponent strike you with his complete strength and anger without frightening him.
1- Don't make your legs on a single line but attempt always to maintain the right leg in the front and also the left leg backward as this tends to make you more secure and resistant to pushing and you won't fall easily.
2-Try not to support your body weight on the front side leg because this can cause it to less difficult for the enemy to kick it away and also make you fall to the ground .
3-Try to keep a safe region in between you and your opponent and don't enter this particular safe region if you don't really want to attack him .
4-For beginners leg kicks harm a lot more compared to fighting by fists and also have a long attacking span than the hands so .
5-Never keep your hands in the side of your body. maintain them up, prepared to protect your face and upper body.
