How To Deal With Guests When You're Low On Time, You're Low On Patience, And You're Low On Cash

Well some people simply love entertaining crowds of friends and family members

, others tend to dread such occasions. Unfortunately however, even if you're a certified recluse, you will inevitably find yourself having to entertain people in your home from time to time, and of course you'll be expected to do so with a smile on your face, as if you're having the time of your life.

If you're one of those people who hate having to entertain loads of guests, then you need to know that there is hope. In fact, here are a few very effective tips which you can use in order to make your guests feel welcome even if you don't have much time, money, and patience. Even if you're one of those people who revel in entertaining crowds of people at home, you can also put these tips to good use.

Let Guests Know That There's a Set Time

If you lead a relatively hectic lifestyle, you probably won't have much time on your hands, but of course, in the vast majority of cases, your friends and family will understand it if you let them know that this is one of the conditions which is not negotiable. In other words, let them know that if they wish to come and visit, they must at least be decent enough to call you in advance in order to arrange a time. Not only will this help you to avoid having to deal with unexpected visitors, but it will also give you an opportunity to make sure you can be prepared as far as food and drinks are concerned.

If you live and busy lifestyle then the chances are you probably don't have much food in the house, given that you more than likely eat out most of the time. Now, even if you're a master chef, you don't want to spend all your time in the kitchen while your guests are inviting themselves in the living room.

You should also consider telling your visitors that the getting together can't carry out for too long because need to get some sleep, and also, you don't wish to cause problems for your neighbors.

Keeping it Simple

Contrary to what you may believe, your guests won't be expecting you to provide a luxurious 5 course meal. In fact, you'll almost always find that the simplest foods are the ones which people enjoy the most. For example, you could provide a few different dips with a variety of crackers, and perhaps a few pizzas.

Of course if you don't feel like going through all this trouble, you could simply pick up the phone and order a few different types of food from one of your local restaurants. When the foods arrive, make sure you transfer them two your own plates and dishes, and then set the dinner table. Don't forget to light a few candles, the cause they really do and that special "finishing touch". Providing you've ordered the types of foods your guests are likely to enjoy, you'll effectively have become an instant Martha Stewart.

Relying On Luck

Another common approach many people are using nowadays, involves getting their guests to all bring something to eat. In other words, you can explain to your friends and family that you're not Rockefeller and that you simply cannot afford to feed so many hungry mouths, and at if they want to come around, you'd love to have them, but they need to contribute. The only problem with this the first is that you could have many guests bringing the same type of foods. To get around this, you could assign each guest to bring a certain type of food. For example, you can ask some to bring salad, while others can bring finger foods and snacks.

Now, if you've gone ahead and told all your guests that they have to bring some food and drink with them, it's only right that you provide one or two types of food yourself. At least you won't be preparing mountains of food, and the best thing of all is you probably won't have much cleaning up to do either. After all, if your guests are bringing food with them, there are more than likely want to take their containers away with them when they leave.

Honestly, you really don't need to dread having guests around for dinner. Greet everyone with a smile and then lead them to the living room while you head off to the kitchen been ordered to see what you have available in the refrigerator. If it's empty, simply call your nearest take away restaurant and get them to deliver one of two popular dishes. Before you know it, you'll be sitting around the table discussing every imaginable subject.
