2 Grave Mistakes In Facebook Advertising You Must Avoid!

2 Grave Mistakes In Facebook Advertising You Must Avoid!

While I have seen many marketers getting some excellent results from their Facebook ad campaigns, I have also seen many marketers failing miserably (despite spending huge amounts of money, they fail to get anything from their ad campaigns).

The reason why most marketers fail with their ad campaigns is down to 2 problems.

In this article, I am going to share with you what these 2 problems are, and how should you go about resolving them.

1. Page Is Not What They Described

This is a scenario where, the destination page where visitors go to upon clicking on the ad is not exactly what the ad described. What do I mean by this?

Let's say, in your ad, you are telling your prospects that, upon clicking on your ad, they will discover secrets that will help them lose 10 pounds in 7 short days. People click on it, only to find that only a small part of the entire page is about how they can lose 10 pounds in 7 days. The other parts of the website contains other unrelated, or irrelevant topics, or worse, the entire page is cluttered with banner and text ads.

By doing so will result in your visitors clicking not only on the close button to close down your site, but also click on the cross button on your ad (and letting Facebook know that your ad is inappropriate and irrelevant to what is being described in the ad text).

And if too many people were to report the same issue about your ad, Facebook will take action to penalize you (the advertiser) by stopping your ads from showing totally.

Therefore, it is extremely important that you give your visitors exactly what you have described in your ad.

2. Not Targeting The Right Audience

Facebook advertising is very different from Google AdWords advertising that we are very familiar with.

The key difference between the two is that, while you are bidding on which keywords you want your ads to show up in Google AdWords, for Facebook advertising, you target the demographics of your intended audience - Such as by their age group, gender, interests, etc., and not by individual keywords.

Therefore, if you want to get maximum results from your Facebook ad campaigns, it is a must that you conduct proper research before you create your ad campaigns - By finding out the demographics of people who will be interested in what you have to offer (and you create a Facebook ad campaign to let your ad show to only this group of people).

You can make use of free research tools such as Quantcast and Alexa to find out the information you require.
