3 Easy School Fundraisers
In light of today's economy, there are budget cuts at every turn
. One area that seems to be at the top of that list is education. Schools still need supplies even if the money isn't there. Here are just three of many ideas that school children can do without that dreaded selling catalog.
Movie Night
Call the local cable company and get permission to have a screening of a favorite kids' movie. The families can come in with pillows and blankets and enjoy an evening together. Rather than charging money for admission, each person can donate a school supply of some sort, like crayons, pencils, paper, or notebooks which can then be put into a general use supply for those needing it.
Collections
Look in your freezer and pantry and you'll find a menagerie of things that can be collected and donated to schools. Labels, tops off boxes, juice containers, and pull tabs of soda drinks are just a few of the many examples available. Once collected, the school can turn these in for cash. Many places have recycling set up as well. Ink cartridges, toner cartridges, and even paper can be collected. Plus, it's good for the environment.
Rummage Sale/Craft Show
For every person that has something unique to sell, there is a person that needs to get rid of something. The school could set up spaces to "rent" and invite the public to the sale.
Raising money doesn't have to be a chore. With a little imagination, it can be fun and family friendly, too!
