Many chiropractors overlook the obvious. They have been led to believe that you have to generate new patients, re activate patients or to retain patients you have to spend a ton of money on new and improved marketing tools. It's just not so, all you really need is what you already have, your patients. Depending on your age you might recall a commercial that recited this phrase, "you tell two friends and they'll tell two friends and so on" Ring a bell? It's a fact that when your patients are satisfied with you and your staff, they will tell friends, family even strangers. I'm going to show you why and how you can and should tap into this phenomenon known as referral based marketing or internal marketing.

Throughout time we all have been taught to say thank you for what we receive. The same is true in your practice. You might already send out a "thank you" note when a new patient begins care in your office. Or if someone is referred to your office by another, you probably send a "thank you" to the referring patient. Maybe even a small token gift. Nothing says "we appreciate you" more than a small token of your appreciation. So if a small note in the mail speaks volumes, think of what a monthly newsletter in the mail would do. An additional reason would be to provide a way for your patient's to refer your services to one or two of their friends.

Chiropractic Newsletters are an effective, easy and affordable marketing tool to increase referrals and increase retention rates with your current patients. Let's look at four of the more obvious reasons.


Connection

Stay connected to your active patients with a monthly chiropractic newsletter is a great way to keep your name and your office in the forefront of peoples mind. If one of your patients is out with friend and it is mentioned that this friend hurt their back, wouldn't you want your name to be the first thing your patient thinks of? Chiropractic newsletters create a bond between you and the patient. Getting a newsletter in the mail makes the patient feel like they are a part of your team. It is a fact that it is much less expensive to market to your current patients then it is to go out and acquire new patients.

Reactivate

Have you lost some patients along the way somewhere? Everyone has a reason for falling off their routine. But many times if your office has utilized the chiropractic newsletters, your patients will continue to know you care about them. Often times a monthly reminder is all it takes. Provide a resource for your patients to easily refer others to you month after month. Monthly reminders in a chiropractic newsletter will often remind them about all the services and products you offer and they educated each month about the health problems you can help with. Then they will be more likely and prepared to educate someone else they know, about the benefits of coming to see "their" chiropractor.
