There are so many articles online that talk about how to succeed and how to keep getting customers so I won't touch on that right now, I want to explain the top 4 reasons why most small businesses never take off.

Lack of preparation

Everybody knows that if you aren't prepared to succeed then you never will, right? Well why do so many businesses fail when the business owner obviously knows that he/she will be starting a business? Shouldn't he/she be ready for that life change? The answer is "Yes", the business owner should be ready and have prepared for success, but the truth is most don't. Most owners don't do their homework and really determine what they will need and what must be done to succeed.

Not committed

I know you have heard this before, "If you are not 100% committed to what you are about to embark on then it will never work". The reason you have to be 100% committed is because if you the business owner doesn't do the work and make sure you are making money then nobody else will. Think about it, "Why start a business when you aren't going to work as hard as possible to get it off the ground?"

Spend business money

For the longest time I always thought that when you are the owner you can take all the money out whenever you want, but that was before I had my own business. Now I know that it is more important for the majority of the money to be in the business account. Never take out money that should go to employees and other expenses, and always make sure you have enough save to help expand and grow.

Don't be afraid to try

What most people never do is try new things. What I have noticed lately is people sending me advertisements on Facebook and they all look the same, business owners saw that these ads were coming out and they just started copying and doing the same thing. Why don't they do something different or at least write their own ad?
