5 Reasons To Move House Part Two
Here are some further reasons to help you make the big decision: Should I move house or not
. Even if you think your home is ideal, maybe you could have something better and make some money out of the move.
Money
Some people have made shrewd or down-right lucky purchases in the past and ended up with a property now worth 10 times as much as they paid for it. With a little research you might find that every house on your street is now the most desirable in the area. If where you live isn't as important to you as it is to some, moving a mile down the road can make you a lot of money. People can fork out just so that they can live in the catchment area for a particular school or be within walking distance of a train station. Or are you one of those people, who have the money and want to live in a desirable postcode? By moving house you could make money and improve your status.
Crime
Do you have bars on your window? Do you use more than 5 locks on your front door? Has your postman stopped coming down your street? If your area has a 24 hour lockdown at the weekend and your girlfriend or boyfriend won't come round without a police escort, maybe it's time to move to a safer area. Crime is a big worry for every homeowner and more often than not some double glazing and a dog can put your mind at ease. But if you are on first name terms with the local mugger there could be a better place to live somewhere else.
Size
When Mr. Stork comes to call, it can mean that it is time to redecorate the spare bedroom. But if he comes with two or three little bundles your home can feel small very quickly. If your twosome becomes a gang unexpectedly or not, it could be time for a move to something bigger. Or if your brood is fleeing the nest it could be that you have a big house with a lot of empty rooms gathering dust and no time to clean it. Size is a major factor in moving house as aside from adding an extension or a new floor, your house will have a maximum capacity, leaving you no choice but to move.
A decision about moving house should incorporate all of the areas mentioned and more. Budget will be a big influence of course but sometimes a factor you didn't consider can ruin an otherwise perfect move. Once you have thoroughly scoured the market and are 100% certain you have the right place to go to and that you are happy to leave your current home there is one last thing to cover: Use a removal team. Those stairs will seem twice as steep when you are carrying a third box of books to the top floor. And no matter how many trips you make to the gym a week, there is no way you are carrying that piano on your own. Lift from the knees!
