Many people do not even take the first steps toward a life goal or a dream because they fear they will fall flat in their face and every person they know will laugh at them. Yet some other people fear going for a worthwhile dream or goal as they are afraid of the limelight and don't think they could handle being successful.
Both of these fears are real and can be overcome with good counseling.
Giant 2 Failure to set realistic goals that can be achieved.
Some people decide to all sorts of things and then sabotage their efforts by setting unrealistic goals and plans. When the goal is not reached they give up and agree with others, saying "They told me I could never make a success of that." I know people that start idea after idea and then give up. This is another fear of failure and it is disguised as real attmepts gone bad.
Iif you have a goal of becoming a very well known actor or musicain good luck to you. The best goal I could think of is get a lot of little parts i short films and get your name out there as an actor. As a musicain I would suggest getting a few songs on YouTube and making a good ablbumn.
But of you don'tt take the little steps you will be destoyed by this giant.
Giant 3 Being a perfectionist
Making a perfect job of things is a great thing to do, but iif you have to be the best and perfect at every thing that you do it can become a curse to you. Microsoft is still the biggest supplier of software in the world and yet many programmers will tell you Microsoft is full of bugs and imperfections.
I ran a website for 4 years that looked hopeless. We have been dooing about 30 prophecies a week. Just now Ihave contracted a new web designer to create a professional looking one for me. If I was a perfectionist 1500 people per year would not have got a prophecy off me.
It is okay to do a perfect job if you have enough money and people to do it, If you have not got the skills and money to do a perfect job lighten up please.
Giant 4 Letting bad thinsg said abotu you hold you back
I showed my new website to someone I love and she thought it was tacky. I showed it to 5 people overseas and they had "fantasic" "wow" and "awesome" to say about it. In light of theose 3 comments should I take to heart what my friend said abotu ti being tacky?
So many people who are ment to love us have bad things to say abotu us. We need to ignore the bad things they say and go on and be a success anyway.
Giant 5 Take reponsibliity and own up to faults and thinsg wrong
I went to get a photo scanned yeasterday and they were charing $5.00 to scan the photo. I asked them if she could email it to me as I did not have a USB and she said no they cannot do that but she will put it on a CD for me for $7.50. I got upset with her and said that I could but one for $1.00 and it was not fair they were charging that much.
As she took my payment I said sorry to her. I told her I only had $20.00 to live for the next week and $12.50 was a lot of money for me and that it was not there fault. She smiled and said, she would only charge me for the CD, the $7.50 and I could have the 5.00 scan praice off.
You see I took reponsiblity for my anger and I got a discount. Many times opportunities do not flow to us becuase we have not taken responsiblity when we have doone something wrong. When we own up to mistakes honestlyr people are more inclined to use us, knowing if we make a mistake we are not going to try and shift the blame.
