50 Cent's New Exclusive Facebook Video
By now everyone would agree that 50 Cent is a marketing genius
. even though he has come from humble beginnings, he has proven himself time and time again to be able to think outside the square and to create results for the brands that he joint ventures with to leverage his celebrity status. If your memory is not too bad you'll remember a couple of years ago when 50 cent was able to acquire a ten percent stake in a company called Vitamin Water in exchange for promotional work on his behalf.
A few months after he brought Vitamin Water to the public, Coca Cola bought it for billions of dollars, leaving 50 Cent with a$100 million pay day andallowing him to sum up his feelings about taht in his hit song I Get Money:

That was a while ago, but knowing 50 Cent, if he sses an opportunity to have another pay day like that again he's going to go all out for it.

Street King follows a lot fo the same formulas of the Vitamin Water business model but with a few wists. Firstly..
Leveraging Charity
Not many people know, but Head Studios supports a charity called Charity Water and 10% of all money that we receive goes to help provide water wells for African communities. I don't really like to make that a big point about our business but 50 cent has had no qualms about leveraging his personal goal to feed a billion people over the next 5 years into marketing success.
It all started with a simple tweet of 50 stating his goal. Shortly after Street King was launched, here's the marketing concept:
For every Street King energy drink sold, Street King will donate one meal to an African child

Talk about a good marketing strategy. But 50 Cent took it to the next level when he came out and told people that if the Street King Facebook page got over a million Likes he would feed 1 million African kids.
But it didn't stop there...
Exclusive Content
Once peopl etarted liking the Street King facebook page 50 launched an exclusive video just for the Facebook fans. This is an interesting conecpet and something few companies do. Basically, no matter who you are, you can create interesting content taht your target market wants tow atch. Even if you're an electrician, you can create how to videos on simple electricall jobs and how to determine if you have faulty electricity wiring or simple assessments of works required so you don't get ripped off by electriciains. Whatever.
The point is, 50 Cent made this video which is awesome, and I'm going to reproduce it below:

Here are a couple of things you might notice in the video:
Product Placement
The video is obviously full of the Street King energy drink. Combine that with some beautiful girls and a party, it's branded as the drink to drink when you need energy. While the video was made exclusively only to Street King fans, the problem was that because the YouTube video was unlisted rather than embedded in the Facebook page anyone with a link could view it and anyone could embed it.
That's the first mistake taht 50 Cent made.
You Don't Have to be Creative
You might notice that the exclusive Street King video is just a copy of the Hangover but just with different characters. This proves that it's not so much about having an original concept to do a viral video but more so just taking something that has worked and replicating it for your industry. Remember that because so few companies are doing something like this you can create some great content that will grab your target audience without spending so much time on it.
