A Beginners Guide To Owning A Caravan

Caravanning can be a fantastic pastime and owning a caravan can open a door to a series of new experiences and adventures

. Having a caravan gives you a passport to flexibility, if find a caravan site you love then you can stay for as long as you like, or if you feel the need to move on then you can do just that.

There is no waiting for airport reservations, and caravan sites don't hold you to long term bookings. Modern caravans are now equipped with most of the features a modern home would contain, there is no longer the feeling of hardship attached to time away.

Caravans don't come cheap unfortunately, especially if you invest in a top of the range model. However, there are many smaller caravams up for sale and the second hand market id very bouyant which means you could bag yourself a bargain.

Decide what you are looking for in a caravan and how much you are going to need to spend to get the kind of facilities and size of model you want.

Your budget will be individual and as with looking for a new home I would recommend as a first step try to list what you want for and in a caravan.

Then, you need to think about how many people the caravan is going to need to sleep. Think about how often you are realistically going to use the caravan. What do you want the caravan for? Where will you store it once you've bought it?

I would also recommend staying in a caravan for a few days before you buy one. I would also recommend looking back over your last year's diary. See how many opportunities you would have had to go away, and try to project how many you will have for the year to come. This is important to consider if you don't want to buy a new ornament for the driveway.

I would recommend talking to the caravan club or other well established caravan associations who will be happy to give you advice. If you do this research you will have a much better chance of a positive and fun experience.

If you do decide that buying a caravan is the best thing for you, you'll be in for some really great times.
