A Brief History Of Hotels

Hospitality is a very appreciated feature often encountered at people living in the countryside

. The rural area is still a region which remain almost untouched by the many vices of big cities. People find it easy to trust a tired and hungry person enough to offer her a meal and a bed for the night. When they receive in return different objects or money they are pleased, too.

This is the basic mechanism of the hotel industry. After the moment when people realized that offering shelter could be profitable, they started building inns, specially designed to host travelers, to offer them food and drink. From biblical times, inns appear in the human history. Back then people made voyages driven by the same reasons as today: to complete their education, to trade different merchandises, to respect their religious requirements.

For practical reasons, inns were mainly built near ports or in the proximity of crossroads. When the colonization of America began the hotel industry flourished. Many people came to the new world from different countries. By the time they understood what they could do on the new continent they were hosted by inns.

The first inn ever built in America dates back in 1607. It is in New York that the first publicly held hotel appeared. After that hotel, all-over the world people turned hospitality into a business; a very profitable one. The existence of competition made hotels offer every year something new regarding comfort, entertainment or luxury. This is how the stars system was invented. Based on what a hotel could offer it received a certain number of stars by its name.

The success of a hotel depends on its location and on the events which take place around it. The Beaconsfield Hotels are situated in the countryside. They provide enough silence for those who come to relax and rural festivities for those who want entertainment. Despite the traditional inn aspect, they offer comfortable rooms, great food and friendly atmosphere.
