As the month is flies by and we are heading full speed to Christmas, everyone is doing their last minute Christmas shopping and clearing through their house to make way for the Christmas decorations.
My mum very cleverly dragged me into running a car boot sale with her on Sunday, under the pretext that we will only be there for a few hours, it will be lovely and warm under cover and go really quickly hmmm! This on a normal weekend would be fine, however, having driven back from Welshpool the day before and then going to watch Mama Mia in the theatre until 0100am was a bit more of an issue.
At -3c and 0500 on a Sunday morning, I found myself parking up under the Auction house ready to set up the tables and decide "why was I there" By 0600 lots of people had been through our stock and just as I was tucking into my 3rd cup of tea. By 0830 I had frozen to the spot and the punters had all gone home, just as we were planning on packing up as a total waste of time and way too cold a few people showed interest in what we were selling. As we were deciding how cold it was we finally sold one of our Christmas items and decided to see it through to the end. Finally at 1130 we packed up and went home. Normally we can make anything from 60-150 today we made 28.50!! this really wasn't a good day and stayed below sub zero temperatures all day.
After unloading the car I headed to the gym in Newport to defrost but at least I don't have to do another car boot for a few months.
