1. If you are denied a loan, you can request a copy of both your credit

report and your denied loan application. You must make that request

within thirty days of the denial.

2. If you are unemployed, collecting welfare, or applying for a job in the next sixty days, you also

qualify for a free report.

3. If you believe your credit report may contain negative information due to fraud, you can

request a copy for that reason.

4. Certain states (for example, Georgia) will offer an additional free set of reports in the year.

You will have to find this out directly from your state.

Whatever the reason, its better to know in advance. You dont want a rejected loan application

on your credit record. Get the reports in advance, compare and contrast them, and make sure

youre in as good a situation as you think.

Credit company bosses are getting fat on the profits you give them in interest payments each

month. Don't let that happen! That is why you should never have more debt than a quarter of

what you earn per year. This way you can be sure you can make the payments on time. Other

than a mortgage or maybe a business loan, you should never get yourself into any more debt for
