A Formula for Success From Elementary School Through College

Right now, you are in school and some part of your mind is probably dying to get out and enter the real world! School, in fact, is preparation for the real world. The knowledge that you take in here will be repeatedly discussed around the workplace. The friendships you eventually make at work will mirror the relationships that you create with your fellow students. There is one primary difference though. Whereas school culminates with a graduation, you will work and work and work for the rest of your life until the day you retire. Some people actually prefer to work after retirement, so suffice it to say your job will be a major part of your life. What are you going to do with your life? By the time you reach retirement age, will you be able to say that you were a success? What does success mean, anyway? Were going to give you four points that determines your success in life. This will apply to your professional career as well as your own personal goals. 1. Aim High Never be satisfied with the status quo. Never think that greatness or an extraordinary life is beyond your reach. Your destiny is written every day that you live. If you have no ambition then you have nothing to strive for. A lack of ambition is what will keep you at a dead end job for 50 years! 2. Learn From Others Never become too high and mighty to learn from others. You can learn a great deal about life and business from watching the mistakes of others and hearing the advice of mentors and co-workers. Though your schooling will eventually stop one day, if you ever reach the point where you stop learning then your life has truly lost all meaning. To learn, to live, is human! 3. Be Yourself You should always accept who you are and never lift the dreams of another person, nor the expectations of someone else. While its okay to please others, its not okay to try and live for others. Some people spend an entire lifetime learning who they are. The sooner you embrace it, the sooner you stop running. The sooner you start living! 4. Expect a Lot From Yourself Dont become complacent with yourself. Do not assume that you are anything less than extraordinary. Do not listen to negative talk that suggests you are something average or even less than average. The more you expect from yourself the more you can accomplish. Set your sights high and allow yourself the privilege of great achievement! About the Author:
