Le Poisson Rouge is another great spot to get a drink for yourself. This is a combination of two bars in fact. The first one is for art lovers. Artistically built, here you can wait for your partner to arrive so you both can enter the main bar together. The main bar is having exquisite shows. The singers perform a variety of music, from Icelandic folk songs to modern American numbers. The entry fee is low too.

If you are in a carnival mood, this is your bar, the . Yes, thats the name. The place is built with the favour, colour, mood and atmosphere of carnival but the biggest drawback is the size of the bar. Few, tables, two dozen of stools and barely any vacant space to stand. It is advisable to arrive early as the lucky ones who can secure a place tend to spend all the evening here. If you get hungry, try the pan con tomate, its from the heaven.

Before I end, I shall name another personal favourite. No pub is as wild as the Irish pubs, right? You can find an Irish pub right in NYC if you step in the Dorian Grey. Guess what, the great-grandnephew of Oscar Wilde is the owner of this joint. Dorian Grey carries on the legacy in its appearance, scantily furnished, low music, yet simple, cheery and charming. The walls are decorated with photos of prominent writers, the drinks are named after them, it is quite a literary bar. Also, the kitchen serves to your taste well.
