A New Wine Debate

A New Wine Debate

A New Wine Debate

It's a Sunday early morning, and last night was spent down the local tavern. There's nothing uncommon in that, I presume lots of people spend their Saturday night down the bar. However, like me, you may well have wasted ?50, and have not more than a little regret. I have had enough though, one of the night clubs we tried to get in to priced 8 pounds for a pint of lager. Enough is enough..

Between the 5 of us last night, if we include in cabs and a bite to eat we probably wasted nearly ?400. That's an incredible amount of cash to get through in just five or six hours. Getting a social night at home. A very civil get together with a couple of bottles of fantastic wine, would appear like a great idea. So I made a decision to look into it.|I think the same 5 friends might possibly spend under ?150 on a good night, compared with maybe ?300+ which we spend at the moment. In reality the more I think about it, the more I realise just how much cash we are throwing away.

The suggestion of hosting parties at home looks more and more appealing. I could get a few bottles of wine and a few good friends round. We all love to play video games, a game of cards or possibly watch a blue ray film.

There is a place up the highway from us, a wine wholesaler, and he's just started marketing to the public. The wife likes wine, and I believe we can all get involved. If everyone chips in ?15, we might have enough wine to keep us going for a whole evening, at a fraction of the cost of a night on the town.

It's a win-win situation, a cheap night, no taxi fares, no punch-ups and no dingy pub toilets. A great value wine might be the way forward for me

Sue went there last week, she knows a lot more about wine than I do, she said it looks like a fantastic place. (Her words not mine).

Apparently they supply to a lot of well-known restaurants in the area, and having passed the place a few times, it looks like they've got a massive variety of wines on the shelf. I also noticed, (Sue didn't tell me) that they do a decent stock of real ales as well.

Of course, something like this is all about quality and price. There is no good spending less money on wine if it tastes like vinegar. So we're going to give it a go in the next few weeks. I think a lot of my mates regret the amount of money we are spending at the weekend, and the thought of our social costs seems really appealing at the moment.

Of course, we may well end up going back down the pub now and again. There is a certain atmosphere that is nice to wallow in now and again. But I think getting a few nice bottles of wine and enjoying them at home will now become a regular part of my social activity. It's certainly a lot cheaper than going out.

Me? No, I never thought I'd be the sort of guy to sit down and drink wine. But life is full of surprises isn't it?

Well, I'll leave it up to you, if you want your wine delivered you might want to check this place out.
