These two are great go-to places, even when you dont plan of shopping that much, if only to people watch and take in the lively scene during your Aruban vacation.

Arubas Famous Gold Mills

Tracing its origin as a gold town, many adventurers and settlers in the 1500s, dubbed Aruba as a rich land full of Oro Ruba or red gold. Thus, there were many attempts to capture this Caribbean island in search of the natural treasure. Today, Aruba as it is now called still has many evidences of its origins, one of which are the gold mills that have now become popular tourist destinations. The Bushiribana Gold Mills is found on the Northern Part of the island where the ruins of this ore mine which finally produced gold in 1824 and has continuously produced about 3 million pounds of gold until the supply ran dry, the Bushiribana is a set of beautiful ruins beside the beachfront. Another gold mill is the Balashi Gold Mill found in Arubas Spanish Lagoon. Balashi was part of the gold mining industry and traces of their popularity are clearly seen with the remaining gold smelters in this historic structure.
