A haven for vegans

When you leave the comforts of your home, you learn to adapt to your new surroundings and change your ways

. But when it comes to principles and way of eating, that is a little difficult to follow. A concrete example would be me.

I'm a vegetarian and have been one for so long now. Before, I used to have difficulties in travelling which resulted to lesser trips even though how much I wanted to. The reason being is that hotels rarely serve vegan dishes and if they do have them, the choices are limited. This is the only setback in travelling for me.

The moment I knew I needed to be in harpenden for a meeting, I panicked. I didn't think hotels in harpenden catered to vegans like me but I was proven wrong the moment I entered the hotel.

Harpenden House hotel is located in the market town of Harpenden hence it is often referred to as one of the market town hotels. Its exterior emanates a Georgian Town house hotel while its interior is rich in elegant chandeliers, lavish curtains and exquisite furniture. I was impressed with the look and feel of the place but the real deal breaker wasn't until dinner time.

I braced myself for a wide array of main courses but a limited choice of vegan dishes and I wasn't wrong. Mr. waiter must have been paying attention to my reactions because the moment my face twitched as if something undesirable was placed right in front of me, he immediately asked me if there was anything in particular that I'd like. I simple told him I was vegetarian. He left me for a couple of seconds and the next thing I knew, the chef was walking towards me. He started asking what I would like to have and that it would be his pleasure to create it for me. I was stunned. I was overwhelmed and ate in complete bliss that night.

Harpenden house's service was beyond great at that particular time and for me, that's the most important thing a hotel can ever offer its guests.
