Pentax K-5: Solid Specs but will it be enough

The Pentax K-5, the interchangeable lens digital SLR camera,was announced on Monday Sept 21, 2010. Unlike the previous Pentax release, when I got to see red with the Pentax K-r, the Pentax K-5 is a much more serious and solid offering. With more advanced features and a list of very reasonable specs, it is obvious that Pentax is still very keen trying to fight for its market share.

The Pentax K-5 was designed based on the Pentax K-7, which has a more professional body and specs, and we won't expect to see the Pentax K-5 will be released with colourful body like the K-r, or even white colour like the K-x. Let's take a look of the preview picture below and its specs.

ISO sensitivity 80-12800 (Expandable up to 51200)

1080p HD video at 25fps

Continuous burst speed up to 7fps

Weather resistant Magnesium alloy body

3.0-inch (921k dots) TFT LCD

The Pentax DSLR is known asits exceptional reliability, user-friendly operation, and compact, lightweight body of its predecessor.

Looking at the above, there really isn't much to criticise and might even give the Canon 7D and Nikon D7000 some realistic competition if it's priced right.Do you have any reasons why this Pentax won't shine?
