About Bounce Houses
A bounce house can give hours of entertainment to a kid
. Many parents rent bounce houses for their kids birthday party. Bounce houses are also present in many amusement parks (mostly in childrens parks).
In 1959, a man named John Scurlock designed an inflatable tennis cover. The idea of a bounce house struck his mind when he saw some of his employees bouncing on the tennis cover and having tremendous fun. This made John think of an inflatable floor where people could have fun. He progressed with the idea and opened a company called Space Walks. The company started with designing inflatable mattresses but soon evolved to design bounce house like structures. Meanwhile, some students in England used Scurlocks idea for designing an inflatable to raise funds. Gradually the structures became more common and were referred to as moonwalk.
Bounce houses are made of PVC, nylon and vinyl which makes it quite sturdy. It has the capacity to withstand small punctures without being damaged as a whole. However with larger punctures, it collapses.
There are a plethora of bounce house designs and structures- castles, slides and animals being the 3 most common structures. Besides, there are also bounce houses that serve as swimming pool where both kids and adults can have fun.
When hiring a bounce house, make sure that the rental company is licensed and insured. They should also provide an attendant or guard who will keep an eye on the kids while they play in the bounce house.
Here are some general tips on bounce house:
When the operator is installing the bounce house, ensure that the structure is properly weighed down so that it remains stable and doesnt tumble down due to strong air current.
Do not install the bounce house where there are stones or pebbles as they can prick the bounce house and make it collapse.
After the operator has inflated the bounce house, ensure that there are no holes or rips. If any portion of the bounce house is sagging then there are chances of a rip.
Prevent kids below 4 years of age to play in the bounce house as they can very easily loose balance and fall down.
When there are high winds, prevent children from playing in the
bounce house in florida. Deflate it if possible, as very strong winds can overturn the structure.
